  1. I think Bryan would say you should do the Scotch Whiskey Experience. It was a pretty fun tour/tasting and we ate a yummy lunch there too!

  2. p.s. we LOVED Edinburgh, but we only got to be there for one day - so much to see and do!! So I'd say definitely stay longer than just a day!

  3. We stayed at Kingsview Guesthouse which we really liked. Owned by a really nice couple and huge breakfast. Convenient to walk into the Centre http://www.kingsviewguesthouse.com/. I recommend the Literary Pub Crawl, it was entertaining and gives a nice bit of history too http://www.edinburghliterarypubtour.co.uk/. It finishes at the Cafe Royal which was really nice for drinks and we went again for lunch http://www.caferoyal.org.uk/. Howies on Victoria was nice for lunch. You must go to Cafe Piccante for a deep fried Mars bar http://cafepiccante.com/. Order it with ice cream or it is too sweet. Ness has some really cute clothes http://www.nessbypost.com/Default.asp?&cookie_test=1, but you may have seen it in York. You should stop in the Bow Bar on Victoria Street http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/edinburgh/pubguide/bowbar.html. They have over 150 whiskies and if you want to buy whiskey head to Royal Mile Whiskies on High Street http://www.royalmilewhiskies.com/. We also did a ghost walk it was fun but a bit hokey. I think some of the others might have been better. They line up all along Royal Mile/High Street so just find one that looks interesting. They take you down in the tunnels under the city. That's all I can think of for now. There was one restaurant that looked amazing but we didn't have time to try so I'll try to get Tommy to remember the name if you are interested.

  4. Oh, and you have to try cullen skink. Not only is it named after your husband, it's really good too. I remembered the restaurant that we didn't get to go to was Stac Polly http://www.stacpolly.com/. It is supposed to be really good and have modern takes on traditional Scottish food.
