Castle Formal

Last night Cullen and I went to a formal dinner at
Castle

Castle is one of the many colleges at Durham,
like Johns (which we are members of)
Castle has the perk of being in the Castle, so naturally we jumped
at the opportunity to eat dinner there.

You enter through this little door, its hard to tell from the photo,
but that is Cullen ducking to get through

I just can't image having a bar in the bottom of your residence in college

'Freshers'

What is a Fresher you might ask?
Well, here are the images from the most recent article
"Fittest Fresher"
in the Palatinate,
the student news paper.

Freshers are just Freshman at University
but there is something different about Freshers here compared to the states

its hard to put a finger on...

Johns Formal Dinner

Cullen and I had our first college formal dinner last night...
think Harry Potter





yes - we wore robes
(no to the hats, sorry)
no- our dinning hall does not look like that, I wish
yes- you are not allowed to be excused during the dinner

We are apart of St. Johns College within the University.
To use another Harry Potter reference, everyone is placed in a college, like Gryffindor or Slytherin. Each college has its own feel and includes post and under grads.
