Welcome to my blog Present Perfect. No...the name is not referring to the form of speech, present perfect, but rather a perspective. Although I will not argue with Webster when he defines present perfect as, "to express an action that has been completed with respect to the present. The word perfect in its name refers to the idea of completion - of being now finished - rather than to perfection in the sense of no flaws." So rather than always striving for some undefined perfect I hope you can join me in enjoying the present for what it is- the completed present that in itself can be beautiful.
I am newly married, new to Durham, new to my job, so I am experiencing lots of new things. I am constantly trying to enjoy the present and all the surprises and explorations each new day brings. I am not a writer, and cannot promise you witty banter. But here are a few things that I enjoy doing in my spare time: I teach art, I am constantly nesting into my first home as a married woman (I would accessorize any space anyone would give me), ceramics, finding a cheaper way to create something that I cannot afford (this list is endless and so vast), spending time with my cute husband Cullen, and exploring my new home, Durham.
Even just thinking of starting this blog has encouraged me to take more pictures, to always be on the look out for a fun project or exciting event, and to pause and enjoy whatever my day has in store.
I hope you enjoy the many routes this blog will take.
